If you don't love something, set it FREE! There are lots of charities that will accept your donations and most will also provide a tax receipt if you need one. Also, groups like Freecycle and Recycler's Exchange or the "free stuff" section on Craigslist, are all good places to find new homes for useful stuff. You can re-home clothes that don't fit or you no longer want, empty boxes, or those scented soaps you got last Christmas and haven't used. Make it a rule in your house that nothing useable goes in the trash until you've given the community a fair shot at it.
